Getting Weaned Piglets
Back on Feed

VS382 + VS7188 · the sow-to-piglet continuity route

Industry Background

The challenge

Weaning is the single most expensive intake crisis in pig production: the piglet loses the sow, the milk and the flavor signal it has imprinted on — all on the same day. In hot, humid barns the drop is steeper and lasts longer.

The formulation answer is continuity: keep the sensory world of the piglet stable while the diet underneath changes. That means a sweet, milky flavor signal in the sow feed, the creep feed and the nursery diet — identical across all three.
