How It Works

The principle

Fat oxidation is a radical chain reaction: once initiated by heat, moisture and trace metals, it accelerates and turns oils rancid — destroying energy value and palatability. VSW5 interrupts the chain at two points: TBHQ and BHT donate hydrogen to neutralize free radicals (each covering different fat systems, hence the synergy), while the chelator locks up the trace metal ions that catalyze initiation. Protection holds through pelleting heat and months of tropical storage.

Regulatory note

VSW5 contains TBHQ and BHT and no ethoxyquin — ethoxyquin has been withdrawn in the EU and banned for feed use in Vietnam. TBHQ is listed for farmed animals in China's feed additive catalogue. It is not among the antioxidants authorised for feed in the EU (BHA E 320, BHT E 321, propyl gallate E 310) and does not appear in the feed provisions of 21 CFR in the United States. Confirm the position for your destination market before importing.
