How It Works

The principle

The pigment consists of silica particles ion-exchanged with inhibiting cations. When moisture and corrosive ions penetrate the film, an ion-exchange reaction captures aggressive species and releases inhibiting ions exactly where corrosion would start — the coating–metal interface — forming a passivating layer on the steel. Protection is active and self-directing, not just a physical barrier.
